Fragments, for solo flute was composed in 2015 for the University of Maryland's 72 hour composition contest, where students had only 42 hours to compose a new work, and the performers had the remaining time to learn the work for performance. The resulting work was premiered by Jenny Lehtonen, and in 2016, an altered version of the piece was performed by Alice Weinreb.
